Put your interviewing and writing skills to a purpose that matters. VITAS is seeking skilled and sensitive volunteers to join our LifeBio program. This unique opportunity allows you to apply your talents toward a deeply fulfilling cause: interviewing hospice patients to create personalized biographies. Your work will result in a treasured family heirloom, providing comfort and connection for patients and their loved ones. Your creative process After completing your training, you will be paired with a patient and their family. Our LifeBio program provides guided questions to help elicit the patient's most meaningful memories. During a series of visits (both virtual and in-person), you'll lead the process, recording and organizing their life story and gathering personal photos. You will then work with our LifeBio team to assemble a first draft of the biography, which is uploaded to a secure online portal for the family to review and edit. Following final approval, the biography is professionally printed and bound. The book is then delivered to the patient and family, a tangible symbol of their unique life journey.
