We are currently seeking candidates for our Packaging Supervisor position to work in our manufacturing plant in Lafayette, CO. This full-time position(s) reports to the Colorado Plant Manager. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for directing the packaging department in support of the Packaging Manager and in compliance with company policies and government regulations to maintain a clean, organized environment to support the manufacture of the highest quality products. This position oversees day-to-day operations of the packaging department and must work in collaboration with other department leaders to ensure that established procedures are being adhered to. This role is also responsible for offering support, building, and promoting a positive and collaborative culture across all teams. KEY JOB DUTIES Supervise 10-18 employees including training, performance reviews, coaching, performance management. Maintain employee time sheets, document/track attendance, establish packaging work schedules and approve time off appropriately. Establish and adjust work scheduling to meet shipping deadlines. Coordinate with other departments as necessary. Manage and mentor the packaging group. Hire, terminate, performance reviews and training of all packaging personnel. Maintain employee time sheets, document/track attendance, establish mechanic work schedules and approve time off appropriately. Suggest ways to improve productivity and efficiencies on the packaging lines. Ability to develop set-up and operations procedures for the following equipment: Bottle unscrambler, desiccant machine, slat counter machine, metal detector, capper machine, heat induction machine, neckband machine, neckband machine, cotton machine, auto labeler, quadrel labeler, Nita labeler and any other packaging-related machinery. Also ensure procedures are followed. Ensure packaging personnel training is complete and current. Ensure proper documentation. Ensure all checks in RedZone have been completed and adding comments as necessary. Sign off quality documents when product is ready for review. Ability to assist leads and operators troubleshoot equipment and help resolve work-related problems. Ability to oversee maintenance on packaging equipment. Ensure proper documentation. Work directly with the maintenance department when necessary. Complete daily processing paperwork in a neat, accurate and timely manner. Report metrics for run rates, yields, and losses. Able to perform basic math calculations utilizing a calculator. Ability to participate in audits as relates to the packaging department in assistance to the packaging manager. Must have good attendance while being able to work extra and/or flexible hours. Communicate effectively with all other departments as to product/order status to aid in the order fulfillment while maintaining quality standards. Ensures compliance with GMP guidelines and ensuring, by active and consistent monitoring, that department staff follows all GMPs and SOPs. Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing employees on the use of all equipment. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, creativity, accuracy, and efficiency in support of the company target objectives. COMPANY REQUIREMENTS Must be legally authorized to work in the US. Must be able to read, write, and converse in the English language. Must be able to pass background check. Must be able to work in a variety of conditions: noise, dust, heavy lifting, repetitive motion, standing for long periods of time. Must be able to recognize audible hazards. Follow GMP, PPE, and company safety policies in performance of job duties. WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or GED. At least two (2) years' experience in a production and/or packaging manufacturing environment. At least two (2) years supervisory experience.
