Pay Rate Low: 38 | Pay Rate High: 42 1st Shift Electrician Industry: Food Manufacturing Shift: 1st Shift (Day Shift) Pay Rate: $38-$42+ per hour (based on experience and licensing level) License Required: Journeyman or Master Electrician Terms: 4 month contract to hire Job Summary A well-established food manufacturing facility is seeking a skilled and licensed Electrician to join its maintenance team on 1st shift. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and production equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive and corrective electrical maintenance on production equipment and facility systems Troubleshoot and repair electrical components including motors, PLCs, control panels, wiring, sensors, and VFDs Install, maintain, and upgrade wiring systems, control panels, and industrial electrical equipment Ensure all electrical work complies with national and local electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies Respond promptly to equipment issues to minimize downtime and support production goals Document maintenance activities, repairs, and completed work accurately Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams on equipment upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives Support audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance efforts Follow all food safety, GMP, plant safety, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures Qualifications Journeyman or Master Electrician License (required) Minimum of 3 years of industrial or commercial electrical experience; food manufacturing experience strongly preferred Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, blueprints, schematics, and diagnostic/testing equipment Experience with PLCs, VFDs, and industrial automation systems preferred Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment Strong commitment to safety practices and compliance standards High school diploma or GED required; technical school training or completed electrical apprenticeship preferred INDBH
