Press Operator - Sun Prairie, WIABR is hiring Press Operators for a well-established printing company in Sun Prairie, WI. This is an exciting opportunity for motivated individuals to grow their career in a dynamic environment offering excellent benefits and advancement opportunities.Pay: $19/hr (AM shift) | $20/hr (PM shift) Shifts: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM or 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM (3-4 days per week, variable schedule) About the Role:As a Press Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining printing presses while ensuring quality and efficiency. You will learn to read job tickets, operate press machinery, and manage production workflows.Key Responsibilities: Read and interpret job tickets, layout sheets, and printing instructions. Operate and maintain presses using the Omnicom format on Sunday presses. Prepare presses with the required supplies: paper, ink, UV coatings, and blankets. Achieve and maintain proper web alignment and tension; monitor splices and alert crew. Hang and remove press plates and ensure proper cartoning materials are ready. Safely move logs using clamps; change ink totes and barrels. Set up, operate, and maintain stackers and sheeters. Set color, read and interpret rulers, and assist in folder or sheeter setups. Complete quality checklists and monitor product quality in the stacker or sheeter. Set up and clean UV coater; remove waste bins at the end of production. Cross-train on other presses and prepare for upcoming jobs efficiently. Qualifications:Education & Experience: 1-2 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a printing environment. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Word processing proficiency. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and solve problems effectively. Strong analytical and reasoning skills. Ability to interpret correspondence, respond to inquiries, and present information clearly. Mathematical skills including percentages, ratios, measurements (fraction and decimal conversions), and basic accounting knowledge. Knowledge of press tools and equipment: densitometer, X-scan, blanket gauge, auto-mix, technique/autocount/computer systems, durometer, caliper/micrometer, ink pumps, folder/sheeter, chillers, units, rollstand/infeed. Ability to meet tight deadlines consistently. Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform essential functions, including standing for extended periods, lifting, and operating machinery safely.
