Specifically, this department: Responds to classroom AV/computing emergencies to keep downtime to a minimum. Maintains and upgrades CTAP (Classroom Technology Assistance Plan) classroom equipment. Designs AV systems and solutions. Generates appropriate documentation for use on AV projects. Installs/upgrades AV equipment (hardware and software) in classrooms and conference rooms. Sets up and configures peripheral devices. Works with AVoIP, Dante, etc. devices and coordinates their interaction with the Networking team. Communicates and consults with end-users, departments, divisions, and universities as needed on AV-related issues. Provides accurate and courteous answers with timely call-backs or site visits and completion of service and project requests. Serves as a technical resource for internal and other ITS departments and staff for resolving any problems as a technical expert. Serves as backup to IET Manager for all capital projects. Performs routine and advanced diagnostics and maintenance of classroom technologies. Trains faculty and others on the proper use of AV systems and equipment, including the creation of materials as needed. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Graduation from a two year technical college with a major in an Information Technology field and one year in the information technology field related to the position's role; OR Graduation from a four year college or university and one year experience in the information technology field related to the position's role; OR Graduation from a four year college or university with a major in an Information Technology area. Related information technology experience may be substituted year for year for the required education.
