Learn more about us at Overview: The Fusing Engineer will play a key role in the design, development, validation, and lifecycle support of electrophotographic fusing systems across our print engine portfolio. This role is highly hands-on and involves working with advanced thermal, mechanical, and materials technologies while collaborating with cross-functional partners in engineering, manufacturing, and supplier organizations. Primary Responsibilities:Lead and support engineering activities for new and existing fuser modules, including concept development, mechanical design, modeling, and testing. Design and execute structured experiments to characterize fuser behaviors such as thermal response, material interactions, media performance, jam characteristics, and component life. Analyze field data, reliability performance, and subsystem interactions to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Conduct technical investigations, support escalations, and contribute to continuous improvement activities that impact cost, quality, and performance. Collaborate with teams including electrical engineering, controls, materials science, systems engineering, manufacturing, and supplier partners. Develop and maintain engineering documentation such as specifications, design guides, test plans, and technical reports. Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, mechanical design principles, or materials behavior. Demonstrated hands-on experience in testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis. Proficiency with engineering tools such as CAD, data analysis software, and laboratory instrumentation. Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations. 5+ years of engineering experience. Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Xerography, including knowledge of xerographic process interactions involving fusing, photoreceptors, toner, or subsystem integration. Familiarity with thermal / structural / multiphysics modeling and simulation tools. Experience supporting field escalations, investigations, or factory operations. Knowledge of ceramics, coatings, heaters, PTC technologies, or belt/roll fuser architectures. Additional Information:This role may require occasional travel to support suppliers, manufacturing builds, or field investigations.
