Position Overview We are looking for a highly analytical and hands-on Director of Reporting and Technical Accounting to oversee the organization's technical accounting framework and financial reporting processes, with a strong emphasis on revenue recognition. This individual will own accounting policy development, evaluate complex customer and vendor arrangements, and ensure proper application of US GAAP across multi-element transactions and principal versus agent assessments. The role partners closely with commercial, accounting, and audit teams to drive accurate revenue treatment, timely reporting, and consistent interpretation of contractual terms. Key Responsibilities Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages for internal leadership, lenders, and the board Perform detailed financial analysis before and after close to identify trends, estimates, and material variances Prepare consolidated financial statements and related disclosures in compliance with US GAAP Research, evaluate, and document technical accounting conclusions, including adoption of new accounting standards and ongoing application of established guidance Review and approve journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, compliance with internal controls, and timely resolution of issues Provide accounting support for M&A activity, including purchase accounting, valuation coordination, opening balance sheets, working capital analyses, and allocation schedules Drive improvements to accounting processes, controls, and documentation Support the Chief Accounting Officer and Controller on strategic initiatives and special projects as needed Leadership Responsibilities This role includes direct people management responsibilities in alignment with company policies and applicable regulations. Duties include recruiting and onboarding talent, setting objectives, delegating work, conducting performance evaluations, providing coaching and feedback, and addressing employee concerns as they arise. Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related discipline required; CPA strongly preferred Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 4 years in public accounting Background in a complex, multi-entity corporate environment preferred Experience preparing financial statements; exposure to MD&A is a plus Demonstrated ability to author technical accounting memoranda Broad technical accounting expertise, including revenue recognition, leases, equity method accounting, and stock-based compensation Experience developing accounting policies, standard operating procedures, and ensuring adherence Strong understanding of process documentation and internal controls; SOX experience beneficial Skills and Competencies Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment Comfortable working independently while also collaborating across teams Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage senior leaders and external partners Advanced Excel capabilities and experience working within ERP systems
