The Consumer Eng Test Infrastructure (CETI) team is dedicated to enhancing product quality at Coinbase by providing engineering teams with top-tier testing tools and frameworks. Our mission is to streamline the process of creating, executing, and maintaining high-quality tests, enabling teams to identify issues early, deliver confidently, and reduce development friction. As a Software Engineer on the CETI team, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing our scalable testing infrastructure, frameworks, and tools that integrate with our CI/CD pipelines. You will collaborate closely with engineers across the organization, address pain points, advocate for best practices, and help shape the future of testing at Coinbase. What You'll Be Doing: Infrastructure & Tool Development: Create and maintain high-performing and scalable automated test frameworks, tools, and infrastructure. Quality Enablement: Collaborate with engineering teams to improve test coverage, decrease flakiness, and refine the debugging process. CI/CD Optimization: Enhance CI/CD pipelines to guarantee efficient and rapid test execution. Best Practices & Culture: Promote the adoption of testing best practices across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, while fostering a high-quality testing culture that maintains development velocity. Observability: Develop comprehensive dashboards and offer insights that enable teams to monitor and enhance test quality. Test Environment Stability: Work with platform, infrastructure, CX, consumer, and SRE teams to ensure test environments are stable, scalable, and accurately represent production conditions. Technology Exploration: Investigate and assess new testing technologies (web, mobile, AI/ML, backend) and integrate them into our ecosystem as needed. What We're Looking For: Technical Foundation: A solid software engineering background, with expertise in languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, Go, or similar. Infrastructure Knowledge: Familiarity with infrastructure technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform) and experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure). Developer Experience Focus: Background in building scalable developer tools and a passion for enhancing developer productivity and experience. Reliability & Performance: Knowledge of observability, debugging, and profiling techniques that boost software reliability and performance. Collaboration & Influence: Ability to work collaboratively with various teams across the organization and positively influence engineering culture. Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual base salary for this position ranges from $186,065 to $218,900 USD. Full-time offers from Coinbase also include eligibility for bonuses, equity, and comprehensive benefits (including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)).
