Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 03/24/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Opportunity:RN - Med Surg Job Details:• Work on a 31-bed medical-surgical unit with concentration in general surgery, urology, gynecology, and bariatric surgery• Patient ratio of 1:6 for all shifts (days, nights, weekends)• 2 years of nursing experience required• Must have competency levels 3-4 in Bariatric Surgery, Thyroidectomy, Bowel Obstruction, and Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI)• Experience with voiding trials and/or urogyn surgeries preferred• BLS certification required• Floating required to other medical-surgical units• Weekend coverage required - must work 2 out of 3 major holidays• 24 hours of orientation provided• Care for adult and geriatric patients with post-operative conditions including orthopedic, bariatric, uro-gynecologic, and colorectal cases• Skills required include surgical drain management, wound care/wound vac, peripheral nerve block catheters, and general surgery post-operative care• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)• First-time travelers accepted• One pre-approved time off request allowed• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams Facility:This healthcare facility operates a comprehensive medical center providing specialized surgical services with a focus on general surgery, urology, gynecology, and bariatric procedures.
