The Role: As the Director of Nursing - Subacute Care at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, you will oversee clinical, operational, and budgetary aspects of the subacute department. Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), your leadership will be crucial in transforming healthcare delivery. Your Responsibilities: Performance Innovator: Work closely with the CNO to set performance benchmarks, assess outcomes, and make staffing recommendations that enhance patient care. Policy Leader: Formulate and enact goals, objectives, and policies that bolster organizational performance and prioritize patient safety, environment, and infection control. Financial Coordinator: Create budgets for your department and partner with the CNO to ensure fiscal responsibility, prioritizing capital needs alongside Nurse Managers with regulatory compliance in mind. Metrics Supervisor: Establish and monitor compliance metrics regarding patient care and regulations, providing meaningful reports to leadership as necessary. Change Advocate: Support the CNO in addressing operational hurdles and implement strategic improvements to optimize processes. Program Strategist: Lead development across financial, regulatory, marketing, human resources, and community initiatives. Operational Influencer: Identify strategic challenges and propose solutions to maximize organizational effectiveness. Mentor: Guide and mentor management staff, promoting a culture of accountability and excellence. Communication Liaison: Foster strong communication with medical staff, community members, and all organizational levels. Regulatory Advocate: Guarantee compliance with regulatory standards, aligning with Providence Health & Services' initiatives. Quality Champion: Evaluate patient needs to develop programs ensuring high-quality service delivery for all clients. Clinical Advisor: Analyze clinical services to improve patient care quality and enhance staff resource management. Project Coordinator: Oversee and track special projects while maintaining focus on priorities. Continuous Learner: Participate in seminars, workshops, and professional organizations to remain informed about industry trends. Committee Participant: Engage in hospital and medical staff committees, representing the organization in service entities. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing; a Master’s Degree in Nursing is preferred. Experience: Over 5 years of leadership experience in administrative roles and more than 10 years in clinical practice in healthcare settings. Licensure: California Registered Nurse License upon hire; California Fire and Life Safety Card within 30 days of hire.
