Position Summary Kheir Clinic's Vice President of Development & Administration serves as a senior executive and trusted partner to the CEO. This role is designed for a leader who combines judgment, discipline, and operational grit with the ability to steward high-trust institutional relationships, protect organizational credibility, and execute a wide range of strategic and administrative priorities. The VP is responsible for institutional stewardship, brand visibility, fiduciary integrity, and enterprise-level execution, particularly as Kheir navigates an evolving healthcare policy and financing environment. The VP functions as the CEO's right hand, stepping in where needed, managing complexity across teams, and ensuring that critical work moves forward without disruption. Core Responsibilities1. Institutional Stewardship, Partnerships & Brand Visibility • Serve as a senior steward of Kheir's reputation and long-standing relationships with: o Strategic corporate partners o Foundations and private philanthropic institutions o Trusted donors and external allies • Maintain and deepen relationships where Kheir is invited to engage based on its track record, integrity, and community impact. • Partner closely with the CEO to ensure external engagement remains intentional, values-aligned, and strategically sequenced. • Cultivate institutional resilience by maintaining strong partnerships should: o Government funding priorities shift o Fee-for-service strategies require adaptation o Political or policy leadership changes affect healthcare financing • Ensure all external engagement reflects Kheir's maturity, credibility, and standing as a respected nonprofit healthcare organization. 2. Grants & Institutional Funding Oversight • Provide executive oversight of grant strategy with a focus on renewal, compliance, and reputation. • Ensure competitive state and federal grants are strategically pursued, timely renewed, and responsibly managed. • Oversee grant management, tracking, and reporting in close collaboration with Finance, Programs, and Compliance. • Safeguard Kheir's reputation for excellent fiduciary stewardship, audit readiness, and timely reporting. • Maintain a comprehensive grants calendar and accountability framework to ensure funding continuity. 3. Strategic Engagement & Special Events • Lead Kheir's evolution toward smaller, more intimate, and higher-impact engagement opportunities, while remaining flexible to scale as appropriate. • Oversee planning and execution of: o Targeted donor and partner gatherings o Board-adjacent cultivation events o Strategic milestone engagements • Ensure all events are mission-aligned, financially responsible, and purposeful. • Continuously evaluate engagement strategies to reflect organizational priorities and capacity. 4. Administrative & Enterprise Project Management • Serve as the CEO's designee on a broad range of administrative, strategic, and operational initiatives, including but not limited to: o Leadership communication and internal training initiatives o Internal PR and change-management efforts o Labor relations coordination and issue management o Growth planning and service expansion o Capital and construction projects o Special vendor and consultant procurement for confidential projects o Board cultivation and governance support • Manage projects of all sizes, from discrete, time-sensitive matters to complex, multi-year initiatives. • Translate CEO direction into clear action plans, timelines, and accountability structures. • Establish authority through execution, judgment, and follow-through. • Other assignments as needed. Team Leadership, Supervision & Interim Coverage The VP is responsible for the direct supervision, strategic direction, and performance management of development, communications, and administrative support functions. The VP ensures continuity of work, clarity of authority, and disciplined execution, particularly during vacancies or periods of organizational complexity. The VP is expected to be hands-on when and where necessary, stepping in directly to protect timelines, relationships, and institutional credibility. Direct Reports & OversightCommunications & Engagement Manager (Korean Media & Storytelling) • Directly supervise Kheir's principal Korean-language storyteller and media liaison. • Provide editorial direction, prioritization, and strategic alignment for: o Korean media relations and placements o Long- and short-form storytelling reflecting the Korean immigrant experience o Clinician-authored advertorials, videos, and executive narratives • Leverage this role to elevate Kheir's brand visibility and public voice. • Coordinate Patient Resources Department (PRD) requests as an internal client relationship, ensuring patient-facing Korean-language tools are delivered without diluting institutional messaging. Grantwriter (currently Vacant): Interim Responsibility of VP • Serve as interim grant lead until the position is filled. • Personally execute or directly oversee grant renewals, invitation-based submissions, and competitive applications. • Coordinate narratives, budgets, and reporting with Finance and Program teams. • Maintain grant calendars, deadlines, and compliance documentation. • Develop workflows to support future onboarding. Marketing & Communications Specialist (Spanish-Bilingual) • Provide strategic direction and prioritization for Spanish-language communications. • Ensure outputs support patient engagement, organizational visibility, and executive priorities. • Anchor work to organizational goals and avoid siloed or purely tactical efforts. Special Projects Manager (Board Liaison & Special Initiatives) • Directly supervise board liaison responsibilities and CEO-assigned special projects. • Ensure board materials, communications, and follow-up are timely and accurate. • Resolve scope, sequencing, and resource conflicts. Shared Executive Assistant (Fully Remote) • Share supervision and prioritization authority with the CEO. • Allocate capacity across executive support, development coordination, special projects, and social media support. • Establish clear protocols for task assignment, turnaround expectations, and confidentiality.
