Job Position: Experienced Fire Alarm Technician Location: Pflugerville, TX 78660 Pay Rate: $26.00-36.00/hr Shift: Description: Experienced Fire Alarm Technician - Austin, TX Austin continues to grow - and so does the demand for skilled Life Safety professionals. TradeSTAR is hiring an Experienced Fire Alarm Technician for commercial projects across the Austin metro area. If you're confident installing, testing, and troubleshooting fire alarm systems and understand the responsibility that comes with life safety work, this is your opportunity to join a strong commercial team. About the Opportunity Our client is a well-established low-voltage contractor supporting commercial new construction and retrofit projects throughout Austin - including schools, healthcare facilities, office buildings, mixed-use developments, and tech campuses. You'll be part of a team responsible for installing and maintaining code-compliant fire alarm systems that protect lives and property. What You'll Do Install and terminate fire alarm devices including: Smoke detectors Heat detectors Pull stations Horn/strobes Duct detectors Perform panel terminations Troubleshoot ground faults and system issues Assist with system testing, inspections, and certifications Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, and wiring schematics Ensure installations meet NFPA 72 standards and local Austin code requirements Support system acceptance testing and proper documentation Work alongside other trades on active commercial construction sites Qualifications - Who You Are 3+ years of commercial fire alarm installation experience Texas FAL (Fire Alarm License) preferred or required depending on level Strong troubleshooting skills and system knowledge Comfortable using a volt-ohm meter (VOM) Ability to read prints and lay out device placement properly Experience working independently or leading small crews OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 is a plus Reliable transportation and solid work ethic Why TradeSTAR?
