Key Requirements Graduation from an accredited School of Surgical Technology or a minimum of 3 years recent experience as a surgical technician in an acute care setting. Current CPR provider certification. At least eighteen months of recent experience in CVOR or completion of clinical orientation for open-heart surgical care. In-depth knowledge of CVOR instrumentation for various cardiac surgical procedures. Experience with CABG and related cardiac procedures. Be proficient in scrubbing, acting as a second circulator, and fulfilling Heart Holder roles within the CVOR. Select and prepare surgical supplies, set up instruments, and ensure accurate instrument and sponge counts. Obtain and verify specimens with the circulating nurse. Facilitate efficient room turnover times to ensure smooth operations. Participate in the departmental on-call schedule as needed.
