Project Leadership & Supervision Oversee day-to-day field operations on structured cabling and low voltage system installations. Lead and coordinate a team of technicians and apprentices on job sites. Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and safety standards. System Installation & Troubleshooting Perform and supervise installation, termination, and testing of CAT5e/CAT6, fiber optic, coaxial, and other low voltage cabling. Install and troubleshoot devices and systems, including CCTV, access control, intrusion alarms, intercoms, and AV equipment. Ensure system performance and reliability through testing and certification. Quality Assurance & Compliance Conduct regular inspections to ensure workmanship meets company and industry standards (e.g., NEC, ANSI/TIA/EIA). Enforce safety protocols and ensure job site cleanliness and organization. Client Communication Act as primary on-site point of contact with customers and contractors. Provide updates, answer technical questions, and resolve any field issues or concerns. Documentation & Reporting Maintain detailed records of work performed, including as-builts, testing results, and change orders. Submit daily progress reports and communicate material or labor needs to project managers. Team Training & Development Mentor and train junior technicians and apprentices in installation practices and safety. Conduct quality checks and provide constructive feedback. Inventory & Equipment Management Manage job site materials, tools, and equipment inventory. Ensure proper use, handling, and storage of test equipment and specialty tools. Technical Knowledge & Continuous Improvement Stay current on low voltage trends, codes, and best practices. Recommend improvements to workflows, materials, and installation techniques.
