Overview Summary of Job: We are seeking an experienced Associate Director to oversee project management at WuXi TIDES. In this pivotal role, you will guide projects from proposal through completion, collaborating with clients, technical teams, and business development. You will also engage in business development initiatives by visiting clients and promoting our services at industry conferences and trade shows. WuXi TIDES is a leading Contract Research and Development Manufacturing Organization (CRDMO) and part of WuXi AppTec’s subsidiary WuXi STA. We provide efficient and high-quality solutions for drug development involving oligonucleotides, peptides, and related synthetic conjugates ('TIDES' drug), streamlining the entire drug development process under one roof. Please note: This position requires bilingual proficiency in Mandarin and English. Responsibilities Lead project initiation and planning, setting objectives, timelines, and deliverables. Closely monitor project progression to ensure on-time and on-budget completion, reporting progress to key stakeholders. Collaborate with technical teams to identify project challenges, utilizing risk assessment tools and implementing corrective measures as necessary. Act as the primary liaison with clients, managing daily communications and organizing project team meetings. Represent the company in project meetings, prepare agendas, document minutes, and ensure follow-up on action items. Evaluate project outcomes and deliver recommendations for future improvements. Support the business development team by participating in client visits, conferences, and trade shows. Facilitate the generation of quotations, proposals, and change orders in collaboration with key stakeholders. Qualifications Education and Experience: Master's (MS) or PhD in life sciences, with a preference for chemistry. At least 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or CRO/CMO industry, focusing on API process R&D and manufacturing, and/or Drug Product R&D and manufacturing. Experience in project management or managing external research collaborations. PMP certification is a plus. Technical Skills / Knowledge: Strong project management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with a successful track record of working across various technical and operational areas. In-depth understanding of pharmaceutical industry practices and drug development processes. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in discovery chemistry, CMC process development, and/or GMP manufacturing. Familiarity with industry regulations and trends for oligonucleotide and Solid State Peptide experience is advantageous. Experience in a Contract Research Organization (CRO) or Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) is preferred. Proficient in MS Office, particularly MS Project. Independence/Accountability: Must be a self-starter, motivated, and adaptable, with the ability to work effectively from home and a willingness to travel up to 10%. Organizational skills and attention to detail are essential. Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to create and implement effective plans to tackle complex issues. Leadership Activities: Collaborate closely with team members across CMC-related business units and the WuXi-TIDES management team to ensure cohesive efforts and timely communications with all stakeholders.
