Job Title: Machinist - Conventional Lathe Location: Valencia, CA Shift: 1st Shift / 2 Positions: (6:00am - 2:30pm) (overtime required during the week and weekend when needed) Pay Range: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour DOE POSITION OVERVIEW Seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Conventional Lathe Machinist to join our machining team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating manual (non-CNC) lathes to machine landing gear components according to engineering drawings and specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of machining principles, the ability to interpret drawings, and a commitment to safety and quality. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Set up and operate conventional (manual) lathes to perform turning, facing, threading, boring, and other machining operations. Read and interpret drawings, travelers, and work orders to determine machining requirements. Measure and examine completed components to ensure they meet specifications using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators. Select appropriate tooling and cutting speeds, feeds, and depth of cuts for materials being machined. Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines and work area. Ensure work is completed in compliance with quality standards and safety protocols. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including job travelers, inspection reports, and time logs. QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or GED Minimum of [2-5] years' experience operating conventional lathes, preferably in aerospace MRO Strong understanding of machining green and plated components Ability to read and interpret tech sheets Proficiency with precision measuring instruments. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE Aerospace MRO experience Familiarity with additional manual machines (e.g., mill, grinder) a plus.
