Job Description Temporary Summer Teen Leader Reports To: Program Manager Classifications: Temporary, Full-time FLSA1: Non-Exempt Pay Rate: $23.50-$25.00 per hour Hours Per Week: 40 Benefits Eligible: Limited - PTO Department: Youth Services Work Location: SF Bayview/Hunters Point/Mission Camp Locations Start Date: 6/01/26 - 7/24/26 The Organization Good Samaritan Family Resource Center (GSFRC) is an innovative multi-service non-profit agency located in San Francisco's Mission District. Its mission is to help immigrant families access needed services, develop self-sufficiency, and participate fully as members of the community. Our staff is a diverse and talented team willing to take different and unique approaches to help children, youth and families thrive and succeed. Program Summary GSFRC provides 4 Latinx Newcomer and ELD summer programs serving K-5th, 6th-8th , and 9th-12th grade youth. Our Summer camps focus on summer learning, enrichments, recreation, and exploration field trips. With a strong focus in supporting youth with social emotional learning and development we strive to build community, spark the interest of life-long learning, and provide introductions to a variety of activities and interests. Our camps operate for 6 to 7 weeks and offer a blend of academics, summer fun, and community exploration. Position Summary The primary purpose of the Summer Teen Leader is to assist in providing direct service to the participants and perform administrative and operational support assigned by the Program Manager. As a Summer Teen Leader, you have an opportunity to gain youth development skills while being a role model for children and to help to create a safe, enriching and fun environment for children to grow. You will work as a team member, supervising and interacting with children in a drop-in setting, and supporting the creation and implementation of curriculum and activities. The Summer Teen Leader position will also perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Program Manager. Specific Responsibilities Assist in providing direct service, supervision, and support to the students during program Operate as a dependable team member working cooperatively and collaboratively with fellow staff to provide a nurturing and supportive environment for students and fellow staff Assist in creating and maintaining lesson plans and program curriculum that are grounded in youth development best practices Maintain a safe, clean, positive, fun, and engaging environment Uphold and enforce all safety policies and procedures Attend mandatory staff, supervision and other designated meetings Maintain a predetermined work schedule Other Responsibilities Perform some daily administrative support and operating tasks as assigned by the Program Manager Chaperone and assist on field trips Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to promote, maintain, and contribute consistently to a positive work culture and team environment Ability to demonstrate professionalism and respect in communication in all situations and with all stakeholders (participants, staff, parents, teachers, etc.) Ability to be flexible and responsive to a variety of student and programmatic needs Other job-related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications SFUSD enrolled student, 14-18 years of age Approved Work Permit (CDE Form B1-1) typically issued by student's current school of enrollment. Bilingual (Spanish and English) Requirements Must complete a full background check (Department of Justice, FBI, Child Abuse Index) after conditional offer is made. Must have TB clearance Physical Requirements This position is set in a School Site or Community environment.
