Senior Technical Consultant, Network Infrastructure

Job Description Join Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), where we provide essential network services that empower our clients to manage mission-critical workloads on a global scale. The Network OS organization plays a crucial role in the design and delivery of the control-plane systems, distributed services, and network intelligence that underpins OCI's virtual networking, backbone routing, and traffic engineering platforms. As a Senior Technical Consultant, you will take ownership of the complete architecture of software utilized on essential network infrastructure, including routers and switches. You will be instrumental in driving cloud-scale reliability, performance, and evolvability across both hardware and software in extensive production environments. Responsibilities Oversee the technical architecture of infrastructure software on network devices. Define architectural agreements, APIs, and failure boundaries across different teams and components. Lead design evaluations, comprehensive failure analyses, and ensure production readiness. Conduct performance analysis and optimization using advanced telemetry and diagnostics. Provide technical leadership and mentorship across the organization. Qualifications Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. 10+ years of experience in systems software engineering, focusing on cloud infrastructure, networking, or distributed systems. Advanced understanding of systems software and large-scale networked infrastructure. Experience with a Network Operating System (e.g., SONiC or similar). In-depth knowledge of Linux internals, concurrency, memory management, and inter-process communication (IPC). Strong grip on routing, switching, and control/data plane separation. Proven track record of operating highly reliable software in production network settings. Ability to influence and collaborate across engineering, operations, and hardware/vendor teams. Proficiency in at least one systems or network programming language (C, C++, Rust, or Go).
