Job DescriptionThe Quality Engineer Co-op is a support role responsible for planning, facilitating, and stabilizing continuous improvements within a production sector; namely, a manufacturing Value Stream.This role creates and sustains improvement processes, metrics, and tools, supporting key deliverables in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, cost reduction, growth, and innovation, and these deliverables include (but not limited to):Will support cross-functional continuous improvement projects in all aspects of the Value Stream, focusing continually on production processes, work methods, waste reduction, and problem-solving methods through lean principles, tools, concepts, and methodologies.Supporting Job Elements: Assist in continuous improvement projectsDay to day support activities but not limited to inspection, sorting, fixture design, assemblyAssist in measurement system analysis on various gaugesReview and analyze technical data, drawings, and work instructions to identify and resolve quality issuesAssist with valve and/or test stand troubleshootingAssist Quality Engineers with reviews of performance data, in evaluation and validation of supplier change requests along with driving improvements in suppliers delivered quality for both new product and existing productsReview returned material and verifies customer complaints through root cause analysisAssist with test data entry and collection, and statistical analysisCreate and modify existing systems that track our metricsCreate, improve on documentation such as control plans, FMEAs, WI, and process flowParticipate in team meetings with Quality Engineers, supporting various tasksSupport implementation of continuous improvement activities in production environmentAssist in closing open finding from internal/customer auditsPerform other essential and related peripheral duties as may be assigned Qualifications: Qualifications Current student enrolled in Engineering programAbility to work independently as well as in a team and to lead small project group.Proficient in Excel, Outlook, Word, Visio, Power PointStrong interpersonal and problem solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
