Senior Helpers of Greater Grand Rapids is an independently owned and operated franchise of SH Franchising LLC servicing the western and northern suburbs of Grand Rapids, MI. What is a Caregiver?As a personal caregiver you will play a critical role in the success of Senior Helpers as you will be the face of our organization on a daily basis for our clients. We are looking for team members that value the dignity of all people and are passionate about helping others age in place and live their best lives possible. You will provide professional care services to help our clients maintain their independence and to assist them with the activities of daily living and assist them with household and family support services. This role is an hourly, non-exempt position, with a starting hourly rate of $15/hour based on applicable skills and experience. CRITICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to treat clients with dignity and respect.Ability to read, write, and speak English at an average adult level.Ability to successfully complete Personal Care Services training and skills assessmentAbility to drive to work and have a vehicle available during assignments.Must have flexibility with schedule and be able to work various shifts and daysAbility to be flexible and adapt to new situationsDemonstrate tact, patience, and good hygiene Minimum Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or olderAuthorized to work in the United StatesComplete any required health screenings as requiredValid driver’s license with no serious driving violationsSuccessful completion of a criminal background check and drug screening prior to employment with Senior Helpers. Proof of passing first aid/CPR training within 3 months of employment ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS More than 1 year of Home Care industry or Caregiving work experience PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDED BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
