Fleet Mechanic (Diesel) - Lumber & Concrete

Reports To: Mechanic Shop SupervisorDepartment: Concrete OperationsPosition SummaryThe Fleet Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of company-owned diesel equipment, with a primary focus on ready-mix concrete mixer trucks. This position also supports maintenance and repair of other fleet vehicles and equipment as needed to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.Essential Duties & Responsibilities Perform diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance on diesel-powered mixer trucks, including engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air systems, and braking systems.Inspect, adjust, repair, and replace components such as cooling systems, fuel systems, electrical systems, exhaust systems, belts, hoses, alternators, starters, and valves.Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic issues and resolve them in a timely and efficient manner.Perform preventive maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrication, inspections, and DOT-related checks.Repair engine failures and mechanical or electrical malfunctions on trucks, trailers, and other company equipment.Fabricate, modify, or weld parts and equipment when necessary.Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance performed.Prepare basic work estimates and communicate repair needs with supervisors.Maintain shop tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and operable condition.Support repairs on additional company vehicles and equipment outside of mixer trucks as operational needs require.Follow all company safety policies and procedures and promote a safe working environment.Uphold company policies, standards, and values while contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
