POSITION SUMMARY: The Protective Services Officer (PSO) plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of all personnel, visitors, property, and assets. PSOs engage in various security-related duties depending on their assigned posts. This includes proactive patrols of property, monitoring computer systems such as building management and access control, as well as maintaining fire detection systems, CCTV, and visitor management. PSOs are vital to detecting and responding to emergencies while securing entrances and exits as necessary. Key responsibilities include processing visitors and vehicles, verifying identification, enforcing property regulations, creating visitor passes, maintaining logs, reporting criminal acts, and ensuring the appropriate screening of visitors and packages. We are seeking candidates with security experience who are committed to protecting people and thrive in safety-focused environments. Additional duties involve preventing unauthorized access to property and personnel. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performance of all assigned duties, including following safe work practices and company policies. Adherence to professional standards, including respect for confidentiality and compliance with ethical guidelines. Flexibility to take on additional tasks as needed. Use of various security equipment as required by post assignment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Basic Requirements: Preferred U.S. citizenship. Must be at least 21 years of age. Education | Experience: High School Diploma or G.E.D. Completion of a certified law enforcement training academy with proof of certification. At least 18 months of acceptable law enforcement or corrections experience. Preferred: Candidates with guard/clearance cards, weapons permits (when applicable), and CPR/first aid certifications. Background Prerequisites: Undergo and meet standards for background checks, controlled substance testing, and any physical examination requirements relevant to specific assignments. Competencies: Ability to meet licensing requirements as applicable. Strong written and oral communication skills. Professional interaction in diverse environments. Effective decision-making capabilities. Excellent organizational and customer service skills. Proficient in standard computer usage and software. WORKING CONDITIONS: Ability to maintain composure under urgency and pressure. Exposure to sensitive information and emergency response situations. May require overtime and rotating shifts. Capable of multitasking in diverse and sometimes stressful environments. Work may involve both indoor and outdoor settings. Physical stamina to perform tasks for extended periods. Compensation for this position ranges from $17.95 to $43.26 hourly, with additional benefits.
