The Neonatal Clinical Nurse Specialist opportunity designed for an experienced clinician who thrives in a high-acuity NICU and loves mentoring teams to elevate outcomes for fragile newborns. The Neonatal Clinical Nurse Specialist candidates seeking a meaningful leadership-influence role with hands-on impact across practice, education, and quality will be excited by this growth path. NICU Clinical Nurse Specialist professionals will join a pediatric specialty hospital and regional referral destination with collaborative shared governance, a strong culture of safety, and family-centered care. NICU Clinical Nurse Specialist teammates benefit from Joint Commission readiness, dedicated neonatal critical transport, and a breadth of pediatric subspecialties that support complex neonatal care while preserving a community-rooted feel. Advanced Practice NICU Nurse reports to the Nursing Director, Neonatal and Critical Transport Services, and serves as a principal clinical resource across the NICU. Advanced Practice NICU Nurse has no formal direct reports yet guides bedside RNs, charge nurses, and educators, partnering closely with neonatologists, neonatal APPs, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, lactation, social work, case management, quality, and transport to achieve shared goals. The NICU Advanced Practice RN will support a high-acuity referral NICU caring for micro-preemies through surgical and medically complex neonates. The NICU Advanced Practice RN will work in a supportive, fast-paced setting with interdisciplinary rounds, evidence-based pathways, and strong family engagement. The NICU Advanced Practice RN schedule is Full-time, Day Shift with occasional flexibility for education and quality work. The Neonatal Nurse Specialist functions as expert clinician, educator, consultant, leader, and researcher-advancing evidence-based practice, building competencies, mentoring staff, and leading quality and safety initiatives. The Neonatal Nurse Specialist will create and refine policies and protocols, analyze performance data, drive practice standardization, and facilitate interprofessional collaboration; Requirements include a Master's in Nursing (DNP/PhD preferred), active RN license in TN or compact, CNS license preferred, board certification in specialty, and NRP, STABLE, and BLS, with a minimum of 3 years clinical experience including at least 1 year in a regional or community NICU and 5+ years increasingly responsible practice demonstrating advanced proficiency.
