What You'll Be Doing: Leading the Future of Oncology Care In this pivotal role as a Director of Oncology Medical Affairs, you will lead the transformation of oncology care delivery, focusing on value-based care models that prioritize excellence and patient-centered outcomes. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with leading clinicians, influence care pathways, and drive innovation in a critical sector of healthcare. Your experience in clinical oncology will be essential as you work on value-based strategy and transformation, integrating utilization management with collaborative engagement and innovation. Core Responsibilities: Clinical Review & Peer Collaboration Function as the physician reviewer for oncology cases, applying evidence-based guidelines to ensure high-quality, cost-effective care. Engage in peer-to-peer discussions with oncologists to explain determinations while partnering to align practice patterns with value and quality outcomes. Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for clinical reviewers. Practice & Physician Engagement Participate actively in engagement sessions with oncology practices, sharing best clinical practices and promoting evidence-based pathways. Build trusted relationships with oncologists to foster sustainable behavior changes that enhance patient outcomes. Support practice-level transformation initiatives to reduce unwarranted variations and improve quality. Internal Strategy & Value Initiatives Collaborate with Evolent's clinical leadership to design, build, and execute innovative value initiatives in oncology. Contribute insights on clinical algorithms and care models that drive transformation in specialty care. Work alongside operational and analytic teams to evaluate the impact of interventions and identify continuous improvement opportunities. Participate in audit processes to validate advance payment model payouts, ensuring alignment with clinical documentation, performance metrics, and contractual obligations. Compliance & Quality Ensure all reviews and engagements comply with URAC, NCQA, and internal quality standards. Document peer interactions and clinical decisions accurately and in a timely manner. Engage in training and inter-rater reliability processes. Qualifications: MD/DO/MBBS with board certification in Medical Oncology. At least five (5) years of post-residency experience, preferably within active clinical practice in the last two years. Possess a current, unrestricted medical license (multiple state licenses preferred or willing to obtain). Demonstrated leadership in practice transformation, value-based care, or clinical quality improvement. Outstanding communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, with a proven ability to influence physician behavior. Energetic, inquisitive, and dedicated to improving oncology care delivery. Not under sanction or exclusion from Medicare/Medicaid programs. The expected base salary range for this position is $120-130/hour, with eligibility for a bonus component based on predetermined performance factors.
