Business Information Consultant - Provider Economics Specialist This role fosters collaboration and connectivity while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. The Business Information Consultant - Provider Economics is key in generating and validating member segmentation for Affinity, Attribution, Care Management, and more. You will stratify members based on preference, visit patterns, clinical criteria, geography, and other segmentation levers. Your responsibilities include assigning members to primary or specialty providers based on observed care patterns, while ensuring qualifications for Carelon-led clinical interventions and risk-bearing programs. You will evaluate target populations, determine eligibility for care management, and set performance benchmarks for shared savings and incentives. You will be recognized as an expert in data analysis and reporting, guiding other analysts in developing solutions. Key Responsibilities: Build and maintain databases to track business performance. Analyze and interpret data to summarize performance with statistical methods. Develop comprehensive business performance reports (claims data, provider data, utilization data) and note any performance deviations. Create periodic reports, alongside necessary ad hoc reports as needed. Translate business issues into effective tracking data for decision support tools. Provide recommendations based on thorough data analysis. Offer analytic consultation to other business areas, leadership, or external customers, navigating complex analysis and reporting. Minimum Requirements: A BS/BA degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Preferred Skills and Experience: Strong experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and statistical software. Ability to manipulate and analyze large data sets. Expertise in analytical, organizational, presentation, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in SAS, SQL, Snowflake, or similar tools. Effective communication skills to present detailed analytics understandably. Experience documenting technical requirements and presenting findings to a diverse audience. Leadership experience in evaluating the financial performance of complex organizations. A degree in Actuarial Sciences or Health Economics is a plus. A minimum of 5 years in the healthcare industry focused on medical economics, provider finance, healthcare analytics, or actuarial services.
