Job Description

Primary Purpose This role is essential for delivering high-quality healthcare to patients in a specialized setting, focusing on diagnoses, treatment, education, and referrals. As an Advanced Practice Provider, you will be a key resource and role model in clinical practice, assisting in the management, training, and evaluation of practitioners and students to ensure optimal patient care quality. Minimum Specifications Education For Physician Assistant: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, completed an accredited Physician Assistant Program recognized by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). For Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN): A Master's degree in nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree from an accredited program through the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, Inc. (ACEN). Experience At least 3 years of clinical experience as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in a similar role. A total of 5 or more years of clinical experience as an APP in any field is also acceptable. Certification/Registration/Licensure Current healthcare provider BLS certification from accredited organizations. Meet licensing requirements set by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Credentialing Policies/Procedures. Specific credentials for Physician Assistants and APRNs include: For Physician Assistants: Valid Texas PA licensure and current certification from NCCPA. For APRNs: Current RN and APRN licensure from Texas with necessary certifications in relevant specialized areas. Skills or Special Abilities Expertise in providing care for assigned patient populations, adhering to Texas regulatory standards and established clinical protocols. Strong leadership skills demonstrated through clinical expertise and practice development. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Proficiency in managing time effectively and fostering team collaboration. Responsibilities Perform all clinical activities related to providing comprehensive patient care in the palliative care setting, including assessments and treatment plans. Ensure optimal medical decision-making that aligns with the organization’s mission. Maintain accurate and clear documentation of clinical findings and recommendations. Engage patients and families in care planning, promoting education and self-management. Provide training and supervision to APP students and contribute to the education of interns and residents. Participate in continuous professional development activities to stay current in the field. Collaborate with colleagues and maintain positive relationships, ensuring patient-centered care. Adhere to all pertinent regulations and guidelines impacting practice. Engage in quality improvement initiatives and may participate in clinical research.
