Now hiring a Safety Coordinator for hazmat and bulk commodities! CTI, Inc is seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Safety Coordinator to join our team at our Laveen, AZ Terminal to oversee the Central/NW AZ region. the ideal candidate will establish and promote safe, accident-free, and healthy work environment while adhering to strict safety protocols, MSHA, and FMCSA regulations. The coordinator will also have to occasionally visit projects along the California and Mexican border Starting Pay: $75,000 - $80,000 Annual DOE Home Terminal: Laveen, AZ Perks, Bonuses & Benefits Weekly Pay Health Benefits after 60 days Eligible for discretionary annual bonus Cell phone stipend Dedicated shift vehicle Vacation, Sick, and Holiday pay 401(k) match Wellness program Job Requirements: Valid Driver's License required; Class A Commercial Driver License w/ tank and Hazmat endorsements preferred University program certificate or a minimum of two (2) years transportation-related experience/training preferred Two (2) years of experience in environmental and safety compliance, specifically with DOT, MSHA, OSHA, FMCSA, EPA, and PHMSA regulations preferred MSHA Instructor Certification, or ability to obtain one year of hire preferred. Authorized access to Freeport McMoRan Inc. (FMI) Required to wear a respirator for certain tasks, which also requires that you are clean-shaven daily. No more than 2 moving violations within the previous 3 years No major violations within the previous 5 years Ability to pass a controlled substance test for pre-employment purpose Ability to work in an outdoor work environment and around equipment Bilingual in Spanish preferred. High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook) Responsibilities: Assist in planning, organizing and implementing CTI's Safety Management Programs and Procedures at industrial construction projects, owner sites, mines and in other work locations. Conduct safety coaching and training, job safety analysis, workplace audits and incident response as needed. Embody the CTI approach to safety, being constantly aware of conditions and work practices, being empowered to stop all unsafe work when needed. Participate in the investigation of accidents and injuries, and cooperate in the preparation of material and evidence for the organization to use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations Respond to incidents, perform investigation, drug test and write detailed report. Must be able to interact professionally with all levels of craft, staff, management and clients while simultaneously managing a diversified workload and challenging situations efficiently and effectively. Ability to read, write and communicate effectively. Ability to communicate information in verbal and written form, as well as the ability to listen and interpret information effectively. Understand FMCSA 49 CFR Part 395 for driver log management. Working Conditions: Primarily a field position. Fast-paced project site environment. Work varying hours and schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with frequent travel (over 60%) and regular overnight stays on short notice. Working outdoors in varying ambient temperatures and conditions. Regularly sit, stand, squat, walk, crawl, use legs and feet; and drive for extended periods of time; occasionally lift and move objects up to 70 pounds. Occasional climbing of stairs and/or ladders, working at elevations of 14 feet above the ground, bending over, opening and closing hatches, shifting gears, shoveling and cleanup of spills. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) requirements: PPE is required and must be worn in accordance with company policy and the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for each work site.
