Position Overview We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to be instrumental in shaping our product costing and pricing strategy for SaaS offerings. In this key role, you will conduct in-depth financial analyses to identify cost drivers, guide pricing decisions, and uncover opportunities for enhanced profitability. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical financial skills and exceptional collaborative abilities to work alongside Product, Sales, and Operations teams. Key Responsibilities Cost Analysis & Financial Modeling Conduct comprehensive costing analysis for SaaS products, encompassing Cloud and On-Premise infrastructure, hardware, support services, and licensing. Create detailed cost models to evaluate the influence of revenue drivers on P&L performance and gross margins. Develop and manage robust financial models to monitor product delivery costs, allocation methods, and unit economics. Analyze cost structures across various product lines and customer segments to optimize pricing strategies. Establish methodologies for fair allocation of support and service costs across products and customer segments. Pricing Strategy Support Collaborate closely with Product Pricing, Management, and Deal Desk teams to assess and propose pricing strategies. Develop and maintain pricing models and tools for data-driven pricing decisions and profitability evaluations. Analyze key business metrics to steer discussions around pricing strategy. Support pricing optimization initiatives by studying price elasticity, competitive positioning, and margin implications. Ensure pricing decisions are underpinned by precise and current cost data and financial goals. Financial Statement Analysis & Reporting Exhibit a strong understanding of financial statements, particularly P&L dynamics, revenue costs, and gross margin drivers. Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to pricing effectiveness, cost optimization, and margin performance. Investigate variances between actual costs and forecasts, identifying root causes and proposing corrective measures. Create compelling presentations and financial reports for executives, translating complex analyses into actionable insights. Cross-Functional Partnership & Systems Support Assist in enhancing pricing systems (CPQ) for precise pricing and efficient quoting workflows. Provide analytical backing for the implementation of pricing systems and process improvements. Effectively communicate financial analysis and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strategic Analysis & Projects Lead analytical projects focused on uncovering profit improvement opportunities. Address ad hoc financial analysis requests for new product launches, pricing changes, or cost management initiatives. Engage in special projects aimed at redesigning cost structures, increasing margins, or transforming pricing strategies. A Collaborative Environment Your role will involve close interaction with Finance, Product Management, Sales Operations, Customer Support, and Go-to-Market teams. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Management, Mathematics, or a related field. 5-7 years of relevant finance experience, specializing in cost accounting, FP&A, or pricing analysis. 2-3 years of experience in technology, particularly within software, cloud, or SaaS environments. Demonstrated expertise in cost modeling, margin analysis, and an understanding of product delivery economics. Strong command of financial statements, particularly P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow analysis, with an emphasis on revenue costs and profitability. Technical & Analytical Skills Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling, data analysis, and report generation. Thorough understanding of SaaS business models and their cost structures. Familiarity with subscription pricing models and recurring revenue frameworks. Knowledgeable in cost allocation and activity-based costing principles. Informed about technology infrastructure costs and service delivery economics. Experience with CPQ systems or related pricing tools is a plus. Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills. Your Contribution Proven success in cost modeling, margin forecasting, and developing pricing strategies. Experience analyzing cost of goods sold (COGS) in related technology industries. Understanding of cloud infrastructure costs (AWS, Azure, GCP). Familiarity with professional services and support cost modeling. Experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI. Comprehension of SaaS revenue recognition principles. CPA, CFA, or CMA certifications are a plus but not required. Salary Range: $84,000.00 - $126,000.00 Annually Your initial salary will depend on factors like geographic location, internal equity, relevant skills, and experience. Non-sales roles are eligible for annual incentive plans based on company performance and individual achievements.
