Construction Quality Inspector Work Location: Minot AFB (Minot, ND) Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview REQUIREMENT - Must be a US Citizen and must pass a federal background review and drug screen Key Responsibilities: Monitor and evaluate each phase of the construction process to ensure compliance with established schedules, specifications, and shop drawings. Identify issues, suggest improvements, and determine if contract modifications are necessary. Conduct inspections and compile daily site reports in RMS, documenting comments, monitoring progress, work activities, safety concerns, and subcontractor manpower levels. Assist with all aspects of the contract modification process by helping prepare scopes of work for RFPs, government estimates, contractor proposal reviews, and related documentation. Review and evaluate contractor plans and technical submissions for approval, encompassing progress schedules, environmental, safety, quality control programs, certifications, and shop drawings. Draft communications regarding contractor performance, including Requests for Equitable Adjustments (REAs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and other technical matters. Calculate and prepare both partial and final payment estimates, ensuring accuracy in pay item quantities, materials on site, and completion percentages for lump sum items. Keep track of the scheduled progress of all construction activities, alerting the Resident Engineer, COR, and project team to any potential delays or issues. Engage in RFI and Submittal reviews, collaborating with designers, RE, and technical specialists to provide timely responses to contractors. Maintain and log data necessary for effective project management and informed decision-making. Perform additional tasks as assigned. Education and Experience: Minimum High School Diploma/GED; a degree in a construction-related field is preferred. At least 5 years of relevant experience in large, complex federal construction projects, particularly with the Department of Defense or USACE. Familiarity with RMS 3.0 is preferred. Experience with a three-phase inspection process. Working knowledge of OSHA and the EM 385-1-1 USACE Safety Manual is preferred. Benefits: Competitive salary based on experience.
