Job Description Are you a self-motivated engineering intern ready to make a significant impact in building large-scale, mission-critical distributed systems and cloud services? Our Oracle Veteran Internship Program (OVIP) is designed to support transitioning military veterans and active-duty military spouses in their journey into the corporate world. As an intern, you will not only receive hands-on job training but also the chance to engage in professional development. You will work closely with corporate leaders, military veteran coaches, and HR professionals to foster your transition into a successful career. You will contribute to the design and development of software for Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure, specifically focusing on our centralized database store for the Oracle Public Cloud. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology in an energetic and inclusive environment. Responsibilities Assist in defining and developing software applications within the software engineering division. Provide technical support and leadership to fellow software developers. Implement modifications to existing software architecture to meet evolving needs. Work on software design and debugging for databases, applications, and distributed systems. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, with a focus on Security or related fields. Experience or deep interest in databases, distributed systems, and cloud services. Proficiency in Java and familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl). Knowledge of algorithms, operating systems, and fundamentals of distributed systems. Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and network architectures. Understanding of databases and NoSQL systems. Experience with tools like Terraform and Ansible is a plus. This is a paid internship position, offering $30 per hour.
