CNC Gear Machinist

Will set up, program, and operate CNC Gear Shapers to manufacture precision gears according to customers design specifications, ensuring that gears meet quality standards, and production schedules are kept, while maintaining machine efficiency and adhering to company safety policies & procedures.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Machine Set Up and Operation: Set up and operate CNC Shapers for cutting of gears based on prints and specificationsProgramming: Load and input programs into CNC shaper machines, modify and/or edit programs as necessaryMonitoring and Quality Control: Monitor machine operation to ensure accurate & consistent production, ensuring parts meet specified tolerancesTooling and Maintenance: Change cutting tools and conduct routine maintenance on machines to keep them in optimal working conditionBlueprint Interpretation: Read & interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and shop orders to ensure proper gear dimensions & material specificationsInspection & Measuring: Use Precision Measuring Tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gear-specific measuring instruments to inspect parts & ensure compliance with quality standardsTroubleshooting: Diagnose & address any issues with CNC Shapers and/or the gear cutting process, including identifying machine malfunctions & making adjustments to correct themDocumentation: Maintain records of production runs, materials used, machine maintenance, and inspection resultsCollaboration: Work closely with Engineering, Production & Quality ControlEXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:Experience: Prior experience as a CNC machine operator in a gear manufacturing environment using ShapersTechnical Skills: Proficiency in operating CNC machines, including familiarity with CNC programming languages & software, and experience with gear-cutting techniquesKnowledge of Gears: Understanding of gear types, specifications, & manufacturing processes such as gear shaping, hobbling & gear grindingAttention to Detail: Strong focus on precision and accuracy, to ensure gears produced meet exacting specificationsProblem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot & resolve issues quickly to minimize downtime and ensure smooth productionMathematical Skills: Ability to read and interrupt technical drawings and perform basic mathematical calculations related to gear dimensions, tolerances, and machine settingsSCHEDULE:1st Shift, typically Monday to Friday, but must be willing to work overtime when needed to meet production schedules.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to stand for up to 8 hoursAbility to lift as much as 50 lbs.Pass pre-employment drugscreen & criminal background checkBENEFITS (Waiting period applies, but company is willing to cover new hire s COBRA payments until eligibility begins):Health InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsuranceLife Insurance401(k)FSA (Flexible Spending Account)Paid Time OffJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offRelocation assistanceVision insuranceApplication Question(s):What brand(s) of CNC Gear Shapers do you have experience with?Experience:CNC Gear Shaper: 2 years (Required)Work Location: In person
