Description Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups through a combination of standardized assessments and observational methods. Create individualized treatment strategies that address both immediate issues and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges. Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions centered on communication, language skills, fluency, voice quality, and swallowing enhancement. Work in tandem with a multidisciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers to ensure a united approach to patient care. Provide educational support to patients and their families to encourage progress beyond clinical appointments. Occasionally assess and manage inpatient speech therapy needs, ensuring comprehensive care from the first visit through the recovery journey. Document clinical encounters accurately and promptly in line with state, federal, and organizational standards. Stay abreast of developments within the field through ongoing education and collaboration with peers. Education A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred. A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be attained within 30 days of employment. Skills Strong command of evidence-based treatment methodologies across all age groups, with adeptness in addressing both developmental and acquired disorders in speech, language, and swallowing. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills for effective engagement with patients, families, and a collaborative care team.
