Job Description

Who We Are: The General Counsel's Office advises on all legal matters; provides transactional, regulatory and litigation support; and consults with SwRI leadership to identify and explore opportunities to monetize SwRI's intellectual property portfolio. Objectives of this Role: Join the General Counsel's Office and administratively support the SwRI attorneys in their day-to-day legal matters. Daily and Monthly Responsibilities: Support the General Counsel's Office by greeting and assisting visitors and guests of the Office; answer phones and relay messages; receive and distribute incoming mail on a daily basis; and conduct weekly inventory of office supplies and order and restock supplies, as needed. Coordinate, process, and maintain general release forms; generate and maintain SwRI non-disclosure agreements, as requested; and assist attorneys with the processing of third party non-disclosure agreements. Compile and track Office budget information; and maintain an inventory of the Legal Library and update publications, as needed. Perform other general office duties such as: photocopying, scanning, faxing, filing; and perform all other duties, as assigned. Requirements: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. 6+ years: General administrative experience in a legal department or law firm and experience in performing and overseeing specific program based administrative tasks. Must be proficient in performing regular office duties and using standard office equipment; experience in using Microsoft Office products; and must have exemplary spelling and proofreading skills. Requires excellent communication and organizational skills; must be able to work independently and in a team environment; and must be able to prioritize tasks in a high-stress environment with ever-changing requirements. Must work in a manner compatible with the attorneys’ professional obligations. Must act at all times with the highest standards of integrity and reliability, including honesty, prompt and clear communication, and confidentiality. A valid/clear driver's license is required. Special Requirements: Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
