Job #: 147607 Title: Structural & Payload Design Engineer 2 Location: North Charleston, SC Salary Range: 56.82 Position: Design Engineer Description: ENG- The role assists in developing, integrating, and documenting structural and interior payload system requirements, supports performance of tests to validate and verify systems and components, manages supplier performance and coordinates with suppliers to optimize design, supports production floor activities during first-of or complex builds, assists in development of new design and analysis processes and tools, investigates emerging technologies for future product designs, and develops, maintains, and modifies payload system and component designs using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and other design methods. Requirements: #Job Details Facility Type: Engineering / Systems Support Aircraft Worked: Commercial Job Duration: 6 Months Schedule: 1st shift, roughly 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM #Education & Job Requirements Bachelor's or Master's of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering A minimum of 2 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Bachelor's + 2 years, Master's + 0 years) A minimum of 2 years of experience with 3-D modeling (Autodesk Inventor, CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, SketchUp, Pro-E, 3DX, etc.) or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience working within cross-functional engineering and production teamsUS Person required for purposes of Export Compliance #Preferred Skills A minimum of 2 years of experience in aerospace engineering, design, and engineering release processes Demonstrates good problem-solving skills and critical thinking Working knowledge of standard business software (MS Office Suite) Ability to meet plan delivery deadlinesUnderstanding and demonstrated experience with FAA Title 14 Part 25 and/or EASA equivalent #Job Duties & Functions Assist in the development, integration, and documentation of structural and interior payload system requirements Support performance of tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications Support management of supplier performance, test, and production activities; coordinate with suppliers to optimize design and achieve program goals Support production floor during first-of or complex builds Assist in the development of new design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of the development effort Support investigation of emerging technologies for future product designs to meet projected requirementsDevelop, maintain, and modify payload system and component designs using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and other design methods #TeamGlobal Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), and more!
