Duties Description The Office of New York State Senator Erik Bottcher is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Scheduler & Senatorial Aide to support the day-to-day operations of both the Albany and New York City offices. This position plays a central role in managing the Senator's schedule while also assisting senior staff with legislative, administrative, and office support duties. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, exercises sound judgment, and is eager to support public service in the New York State Senate. In this dynamic role, you will: • Review, log, and track all scheduling requests from constituents, advocacy organizations, government partners, and other stakeholders • Manage and maintain the Senator's calendar, coordinating scheduling decisions with the Senator and senior staff • Monitor deadlines for responses to invitations and ensure timely follow-up • Coordinate staff calendars and coverage for meetings or events the Senator is unable to attend • Prepare background materials and briefing notes for meetings, hearings, and events • Represent or accompany the Senator at meetings or events as needed • Maintain awareness of constituent services casework to help flag issues relevant to legislative priorities • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned • Travel occasionally between Albany and the district • Have availability to support time-sensitive scheduling needs outside of standard business hours Minimum Qualifications To move forward, you must have: • A strong interest in New York State government and the legislative process • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail • Professional written and verbal communication skills • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment • Comfort working directly with senior staff and an elected official • Proficiency with office productivity tools, including email, calendars, documents, spreadsheets, and basic database management • Prior experience working in government, campaigns, or public service preferred but not required • A bachelor's degree Additional Comments This is a full-time, overtime-exempt position, based in either Albany or New York City in the District Office. The salary range is $50,000 to $60,000, commensurate with education and experience.
