The schedule is 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off with call responsibilities. The patient contact hours total 6. Clinic days are 8, operating from 8 AM to 4 PM. Inpatient responsibilities are required at both locations. Telehealth services are provided. The locum will have 4 to 5 days per week dedicated to medical hematology/oncology coverage. Inpatient coverage will involve both sites. The average daily hospital practice census is 10 to 15 patients. Consultations are typically 40 minutes, and follow-ups are 20 minutes. The primary patient population includes Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial insurance. Services offered in this practice include patient assessments, new and ongoing treatment plans, changes in therapy, referrals for ancillary services, end-of-life care, chemotherapy management, and pain management. Radiation and surgical oncology management is provided by existing providers with strong relationships in the practice. Nursing support is available on a 1:1 basis. Medical imaging and laboratory pharmacy services are included.
