Key Responsibilities Maintenance & RepairDiagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulic systems Perform preventive maintenance inspections and emergency field repairs Conduct diagnostic tests and interpret results for effective solutions Test drive and operationally verify all repaired equipment Shop OperationsMaintain detailed records of parts inventory and service documentation Order and install replacement parts for specialized tree equipment Keep shop areas organized and manage tools and supplies Collaborate with crew leaders on equipment modifications and improvements Required Qualifications Technical SkillsAdvanced knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulics Proficiency with diagnostic software and repair equipment Experience with mechanical and electrical power tools Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities Experience & CertificationsVocational training in diesel mechanics or equivalent experience Valid driver's license with clean record Diesel engine repair experience preferred Tree service equipment experience (chippers, aerial lifts) a plus Core CompetenciesExcellent attention to detail and quality workmanship Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to work independently and with field crews Computer systems knowledge for diagnostic and record-keeping Position Details Full-time: 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts Location: In-person at our well-equipped service facility Work Environment: Modern shop with specialized diagnostic tools About Us Tri-State Tree Service has 30+ years of excellence in tree care with TCIA accreditation.
