Charting experience with EPIC is required. The patient ratio is 1:5 to 1:7 for MedSurg with 26 beds. Specializes in the care of patients post PCI, pacemakers, AICDs, and post MI, as well as cardiac pharmacological interventions. Skills include cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Involves the use of Rapid Response and Code teams. Experience with IV therapy and phlebotomy is necessary. Responsibilities include peripheral line care and management. Respiratory care includes nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks, and non-invasive airway management. Experience with isolation precautions is required. The facility is a tertiary care hospital with a total of 528 staffed beds. Daily census is 38 patients. Patients are primarily adults and geriatrics. Staffing ratios: 5 patients per nurse during the day, 6 patients per nurse at night, and 5 patients per nurse on weekends. Candidates will be required to float. Charting systems experience and BLS certification are mandatory for all applicants.
