Executive Director of Human Resources Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana (RHI) | Inpatient Rehabilitation | Full-time | On-site About the role The Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana (RHI) is seeking a strategic, growth-oriented Executive Director of Human Resources to lead HR operations and strategy in a nationally respected, academic, mission-driven healthcare environment. As Indiana's only nationally ranked inpatient rehabilitation hospital, RHI serves patients with complex medical needs and life-changing diagnoses. This is a senior leadership opportunity for an HR executive who wants to influence strategy, culture, and organizational transformation at the highest level. What you'll do Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and serving as a key member of the Administrative Team, you will: Align human capital strategy with hospital growth and operational goals Serve as trusted advisor to executive leadership Lead and support total HR operations including employee relations, compliance, talent strategy, compensation, engagement, and organizational development Drive Continuous Improvement & Growth Mindset within the HR team & throughout the organization Drive change leadership initiatives in a complex, matrixed healthcare environment Build and mentor a high-performing HR team by enhancing team knowledge, enabling team growth, and sustaining a thriving team-first environment. Core Responsibilities Strategy Development - Develop & Execute comprehensive human capital strategies to best support achievement of organizational goals. This role will further lead enhancement and optimization of HR support delivery to the organization. Talent & Workforce Strategy - Lead the activation of organization talent programs including acting as strategic lead of talent acquisition, talent development, performance management, organization design, and workforce optimization strategies. Employee Relations & Compliance - Act as top-level employee relations and compliance leader, ensuring that compliance risks are identified & mitigated. Ensure all organizational HR reporting requirements are met, and provide executive oversight and support of internal employee relations concerns and investigations in partnership with the HRBP - Employee Relations. Culture & Organizational Development - Lead the development & sustainment of a healthy workplace culture. Lead the definition of cultural imperatives, ensuring cultural congruency & understanding, and supporting leadership in identification and remediation of negative culture influences Team Leadership - Lead a team of high-performing HR team members, shepherding growth, creating clarity, sustaining team community & trust, and ensuring the HR team is delivering upon commitments to the organization. Support enhancement of internal HR team brand, team credibility, and establishing team as strategic thought partners. Change Leadership - Support development and deployment of dynamic and effective change management strategies in support of all organizational changes. Lead the evaluation of stakeholders, support definition of From-To of change, support development of effective communication and remediation strategies, and lead the monitoring of change adoption and change fatigue within the organization. The Leader We're Seeking You are: Strategic and data-driven A builder of teams and internal community A thoughtful change leader A persuasive communicator and storyteller Passionate about developing people Purpose-driven and aligned with healthcare excellence Qualifications Required We are looking for a leader who brings: 5+ years in a Director-level HR leadership role Experience leading HR in a healthcare or complex organization preferred Strong executive presence and communication skills High emotional intelligence and advanced conflict resolution skills Knowledge of employment law and regulatory compliance Proven change management and organizational development expertise Preferred SHRM-SCP (or equivalent) Degree in Human Resources or related field Schedule and location Setting: Inpatient rehabilitation, on-site at Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana (RHI). Schedule: Full-time; schedule/shift details to be confirmed during interview.
