Job Description

Facilitate Communication and Connection in the Scenic Beauty of North Carolina - Become Our Speech Language PathologistOverview Imagine a career where every word you help shape carries weight and meaning. As a Speech Language Pathologist embedded in one of North Carolina's picturesque communities, your role extends far beyond just addressing communication and swallowing disorders. It is about unlocking potential, rebuilding confidence, and fostering human connections that make a difference - from the first babbling of infants to the brave attempts of seniors striving for independence. This position presents a rare chance to serve an extensive range of individuals at different life stages within a framework that merges outpatient therapy with seasonal inpatient support. Whether your interests lie in pediatric speech development, the complexities of adult neurogenic disorders, or restoring cognitive-linguistic ability in older adults, you will find a welcoming and exciting environment here for your professional journey. Key Responsibilities Administer assessments to patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations using a mix of standardized evaluations and observational techniques. Craft individualized treatment plans targeting both immediate goals and the long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs of patients. Deliver focused, one-on-one speech therapy interventions addressing communication, articulation, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing challenges. Work in conjunction with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to ensure integrative care strategies are followed. Educate patients and their families, empowering them to support progress outside of therapeutic sessions. Assist with occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy, ensuring a seamless continuum of care throughout a patient's journey. Ensure timely and accurate documentation in compliance with state, federal, and organizational protocols. Engage in ongoing education and collaboration with peers to remain at the forefront of this evolving field. Qualifications Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications and Skills State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment. Proficient in contemporary treatment methodologies suitable for individuals of all ages, emphasizing both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional ability to engage and communicate with patients, their families, and interdisciplinary care teams. Adaptable to culturally diverse backgrounds and able to modify therapy techniques accordingly. Strong clinical acumen and capacity for critical thinking and problem resolution. Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation practices. Benefits Competitive salary aligned with experience. Flexible scheduling promoting both professional and personal balance. Specialization options in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatric care. Generous paid time off (PTO) and public holiday pay. Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance alternatives. Continuing education reimbursement and robust professional development opportunities. A collaborative workspace emphasizing quality patient care and lifelong learning. Your Journey Awaits - Step Into Your Impactful Future In this role, you will do more than administer speech therapy; you will become an essential part of a community-oriented mission aimed at restoring voices, enhancing communication, and creating joyous moments through the profound human experiences of understanding and connection. Your colleagues will not just be fellow clinicians; they will feel like family who support each other in a cooperatively driven environment. Every patient brings a story, and we trust you to craft how their narrative unfolds. Discover the Charm of Life and Work Here Life in this region of North Carolina harmoniously balances a vibrant array of modern possibilities with an inviting sense of community. Set against a backdrop of rolling landscapes, scenic trails, and rich traditions, this area offers much to those seeking connection, adventure, and professional fulfillment. You will find families enjoying weekend gatherings under the shaded canopies of local parks or savoring vibrant outdoor concerts, while the adventurous explore numerous hiking paths, lazy rivers, or check out unique food festivals featuring local farms and culinary hotspots. Delicious cuisines from cozy diners to upscale restaurants that showcase the very best of Southern gastronomy will never leave you wanting. The culture is alive here, marked by artistic expressions in numerous public spaces, local music scenes, and events that connect diverse groups. From a professional standpoint, the community supports growth with no state income tax, a reasonable cost of living, and a flourishing healthcare landscape, providing a solid foundation for your career to bloom. Whether you're just starting out or are an established specialist eager to explore new prospects, you will discover the perfect blend of growth and fulfillment within our community. Who We Seek We are looking for a Speech Language Pathologist who leads with compassion and prioritizes meaningful outcomes. A professional who envisions a world of self-expression for the quiet child and sees determination in the words of a stroke survivor. You may have spent your career exclusively with young ones and are now eager to branch into adult services - or perhaps you are an experienced neuro-based clinician ready to expand your skills into pediatrics. Whatever your background, if you are passionate about making a heartfelt impact and comfortable taking the lead with skill, we would love to have you on our team. Let Us Empower Communication Together If you believe that speech transcends sounds, and therapy exceeds mere tasks; if you understand the importance of establishing trust before confronting objectives and value laughter as much as language, this could be your next significant career milestone. Join us in a community that champions communication, connectivity, and the courage it takes to start anew. Apply now to lend your voice to our mission - and help others discover theirs.
