The Medical College of Wisconsin's Hematology and Oncology APP Fellowship Program is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide specialty medical care within the Hematology and Oncology ambulatory clinics and inpatient units. This position is located in Milwaukee, WI at the Clinical Cancer Center and Center for Advanced Care at Froedtert Hospital. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Fellow works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching. Position Highlights: The Medical College of Wisconsin's postgraduate fellowship programs provide a structured clinical and professional education to foster growth. The Hematology/Oncology APP fellowship is an innovative one-year training program that teaches APP fellows to become highly skilled in the multidisciplinary, collaborative, and evidence-based management of complex and challenging patients with a history of cancer and hematological disorders. The curriculum is composed of multi-modal learning opportunities that may include the following: in-person didactics, online classrooms, simulation labs, proctored procedures, and/or mentored clinical rotations. The APP fellow will have a strong foundation in evidence-based practice and ensure an environment of safe, quality care. The Hematology/Oncology APP fellow will have a variety of experiences caring for patients with a history of oncologic and hematologic disorders. The Hematology/Oncology APP fellow will work at the Clinical Cancer Center and Center for Advanced Care at Froedtert Hospital, and at an off-campus community site. The Hematology/Oncology APP fellow reports to the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Leadership Team: Director - Kristine Broge-Reynen, MS, APNP, ANP-BC Assistant Director - Maressa Sweeney, PA-C, MPAS Director- Amy Harker-Murray, MD, Assistant Professor Education Coordinator- Brianna Just Schedule: 1.0 FTE (full time) Salaried (exempt) APP fellows receive compensation during the program. APP fellow salary is $75,000 and paid out as per MCW standard. Taxes and deductions apply. Typical schedule: Ambulatory setting: 8am-5pm Monday through Friday in outpatient clinic. Inpatient setting: 10-hour work day, variable times (i.e. 7am-5pm) 4 shifts/week Weekend and/or holiday requirements: May require occasional weekend during inpatient rotation, no holidays, no on-call shifts. Program Highlights: The APP Adult Hematology and Oncology Fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin is a 12-month training program designed to prepare NPs and PAs in the multidisciplinary, evidence-based care of complex patients. Fellows gain hands-on clinical experience, didactic learning, and professional mentorship to strengthen clinical decision-making and develop specialized skills. Fellows will have core rotations in Thoracic Oncology, Genitourinary Oncology, GI Oncology, Breast Oncology, Malignant Hematology (Leukemia, Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, BMT-CT), Head and Neck Oncology, Gynecological Oncology, Palliative Medicine, Benign Hematology, 24-Hour Cancer Clinic, Continuity Clinic (weekly throughout the year) and a Long Rotation (APP fellow selects 1 specialty for an 8-week rotation. There are elective rotations (the fellow selects 2) in Psych Oncology, Interventional Radiology, Sarcoma, Phase 1/Precision Medicine, Neuro Oncology, and Radiation Oncology providing specialty health care services within a defined scope of practice in collaboration with a licensed physician and in accordance with MCW/FMLH policies and procedures. Minimum Education: Advanced Practice Nurse: Master's Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization. Physician Assistant: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA-accredited organization.
