Reason for coverage is lack of coverage. Practice setting includes hospital call and clinical areas of adult medicine, hospital, and outpatient gastroenterology. Lab and X-ray facilities are onsite. Internal medicine is required. Electronic medical records system used is Epic. There is no trauma designation. Open dates are from 6/29 to 7/3 and 12/21 to 12/25. Required procedures and duties include esophageal dilatation, esophageal manometry interpretation, small bowel biopsy, lower GI endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, liver biopsy, management of Sengstaken/Blakemore tube, and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS). Upper GI endoscopy duties involve biopsy, foreign body removal, cautery vs. laser fulguration of bleeder, injection and banding of varices, and therapeutic ERCP. On average, there are 8 procedures per week including general surgical interventions, hepatology, and diagnostic procedures. Estimated credentialing timeframe is 90 days.
