Mechanical Reliability Engineer

Job Title: Mechanical Reliability Engineer Reports to: Director of Manufacturing Department: Warrenville Engineering Location: Warrenville, IL FLSA Status: Exempt Issue Date: September 10, 2025 Position Summary The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for researching, planning, and designing equipment layouts directing and coordinating activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of metal forming equipment across 4 domestic plants. Role is Hybrid within 50 miles of one of the plants- East Troy WI- Hopkinsville KY- Salisbury MD or, Eupora MS. Provide mechanical and process engineering support to all tube production and finishing facilities. Ensure reliability considerations are integrated in new and current equipment and system upgrades. Research equipment and equipment components Develop support resources (consultants, vendors, etc.) as required Design equipment and equipment modifications to meet plant and process requirements Aide in capital projects and acquisitions Aide in solving equipment, quality, safety, infrastructure and environmental problems and issues Manage projects as required Supports and participates in Lean Manufacturing and Manufacturing Excellence activities and initiatives Oversight over asset management company wide-CMMS Performing other duties as assigned Qualifications BSME or equivalent experience 5+ years experience with progressively increasing responsibility in a tube or metals manufacturing or finishing facility Excellent written and communications skills Strong interpersonal and organizational capabilities Strong team and leadership skills Good computer skills including MS office software, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project software and Solidworks working knowledge. Experience with NEXGEN or other CMMS/Asset management is a plus Providing direction and leadership to local engineering and maintenance teams as needed Willingness to travel approximately up to 40% of the time Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee is typically in an office environment. The noise level in the office is usually low to moderate. The employee routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and various other office equipment. When visiting mills the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment and stored energy in the form of pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and gravitational energy. The noise level at some of the mills in the work environment is above 85 dcB and hearing protection is required. At the mills, due to manufacturing technologies utilized in the area common contaminants such as dirt, dust, grease, oil steel chips, swarf and water may be present. At the mills, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. Also may be exposed to fumes or dust.
