Respiratory Therapist PRN

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Reports to: Director of HME Operations Scheduled Hours: PRN-As Needed Position Overview: Assessing patients' respiratory conditions and developing treatment plans. Administering respiratory/sleep disordered breathing therapies. Monitoring patients' responses to therapy and adjusting treatment plans as needed. Educating patients and their families on respiratory conditions and home care. Duties/Responsibilities: Comply with all applicable company policies and procedures. Administer respiratory/sleep disorder treatments as prescribed Educate patient and caregivers on prescribed treatment Develop patient plan of care with patient's physician and evaluate patients' response to therapy Review patient medical records to assure equipment coverage requirements are met. Develop and maintain working knowledge of (i) current HME products and services offered and (ii) all applicable governmental regulations. Ensures that all required documentation including, but not limited to certificates of medical necessity, and assignment of benefits required for reimbursement are procured in a timely and efficient manner Develops and maintains working knowledge of current Medicare, Medicaid, insurance regulations, and FDA/DOT and HQAA guidelines Participates in respiratory equipment inventory control and ordering activities; assists in receiving and stocking respiratory equipment inventory as necessary. Provide clinical respiratory guidance to staff as needed. Maintains a high level of satisfaction with patients, referral sources and location employees Maintains a professional and clean working environment Works with staff to maintain clinical programs Other duties assigned by management. Minimum Qualifications: Must be a CRT or RRT with a valid Ohio license Associate degree or equivalent; or two to four years of related experience Home care and/or DME experience preferred Excellent customer service skills Required License/Certifications: Valid Ohio Respiratory Therapist license; valid Ohio driver's license Competency Requirements: HME and Respiratory Competencies Physical demands: Sitting, standing, walking Operation of office machinery and computer Occasionally lift/move items up to 100 pounds Visual abilities to include reading, distance vision and peripheral vision Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
