Independent Living Activities Coordinator Full Time | Monday-Friday | 9am-5pm Pay rate $15/hourGenacross Lutheran Services, a faith-based nonprofit organization, for over 160 years, has provided compassionate care and support to individuals, families, and communities in need. Independent Living (IL) Activities Coordinator is responsible for developing, planning, organizing resident activities, outings and events with the IL manager and service coordinator. All day-to-day duties are expected to be performed in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. What will I do as an IL Activities Coordinator? Direct the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating of the activity programs of this facility with assistance from the IL site manager. Generate the monthly activities calendar with assistance and/or input from the IL site manager. Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures for identifying the spiritual, social, recreational, and emotional needs of the resident. Assist in creating and maintaining a calm warm positive atmosphere of collective interests. Secure all supplies needed for the activities and events scheduled at the facility within budget. Organize and schedule outside entertainment for monthly activities calendar. Complete activities and transport residents via bus to outings and events as designed by the scheduled calendar events. Plan season appropriate holiday parties with independent living manager. Assist with beverage and snack distribution during designated timeframes. Cooperates with Supervisor, as well as other facility personnel to ensure that the property and related services are adequately maintained to meet the needs of the residents. Assume additional duties and responsibilities as determined by supervisor. Reports allegations of abuse/neglect and reports, as appropriate, to proper organization leadership. Reports hazardous incidents, including but not limited to, injuries, equipment, etc. to the appropriate Manager/Supervisor. Implements and follows disaster plans in the event of an emergency. Maximizes the stewardship of all resources. IL Activities Coordinator Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in the healthcare industry working with residents in an independent living setting. Familiarity with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to learn new software application as required by the position. Understands directions; communicates and responds to inquiries promptly. Requires excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with senior executives, managers, supervisors and direct care staff, as well as residents, families and physicians.
