Job DescriptionJob Title: Chiller Technician - Commercial HVAC Location: Charlottesville, VA Pay: $50 / hr About the Opportunity We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chiller Technician to join our dynamic HVAC team in Charlottesville, VA. This role is ideal for a career-oriented technician with deep technical knowledge of chilled water systems, boilers, and complex HVAC equipment, who is ready to lead and mentor others while delivering top-tier service to our commercial clients. What You'll Do Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain centrifugal chillers, reciprocating, absorption, and screw chillers, as well as associated pneumatic and electrical control systems. Service medium to large HVAC systems, including rooftop units, DX systems, boilers, and related mechanical systems. Accurately diagnose system failures, test components using appropriate instrumentation, and perform necessary disassembly and reassembly. Provide hands-on leadership and technical guidance to HVAC technicians and apprentices in the field. Maintain a high standard of safety, quality, and customer service across all projects. What We're Looking For Proven experience as an HVAC Service Technician with specialized expertise in chilled water systems. Hands-on experience with boilers and their control systems. Strong skills in diagnosing and repairing complex commercial HVAC systems. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, equipment specs, and job conditions. A collaborative mindset and willingness to mentor apprentices and junior techs. EPA Universal Certification (required). Journeyman or Master HVAC License (preferred but not required). Solid understanding of OSHA safety regulations. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
