Description Assess patients across various age groups, utilizing standardized testing and observational methods to gauge their needs. Create individualized treatment plans that target both immediate and long-term goals related to communication, cognitive abilities, or swallowing. Deliver personalized speech therapy focused on communication skills, language acquisition, fluency, voice control, and swallowing techniques. Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and family members, to develop comprehensive care strategies. Educate patients and their families to support ongoing progress outside of clinical visits. Participate in the occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy interventions to ensure thorough and consistent care throughout the recovery journey. Maintain accurate, timely documentation that follows all relevant state, federal, and organizational protocols. Stay abreast of developments in the field through ongoing education and cooperative learning with peers. Education Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications State licensure as a Speech Language Therapist. Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire. Skills Expertise in evidence-based treatment strategies applicable for all ages, coupled with a robust comprehension of both developmental and acquired communication and swallowing disorders. Exceptional interpersonal skills for engaging with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Ability to tailor therapy methods to accommodate varying cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
