The General Electrical Superintendent will be responsible for providing coordination, planning, and supervision to Electrical Superintendents, and craft activities on a utility scale solar site for all Electrical installations. This position is for all solar projects in the United States. Must be willing to travel. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Organization, flexibility, outstanding customer focus and strong communication are critical in performing duties which include, but are not limited to: Properly plans and executes the high-quality installation of electrical portions of a solar project. Responsible for having a collaborative mindset with his team in the field and his peers. Has vast knowledge of all BOS systems and has expertise in installation of CAB Lines, DC Collection Systems, Wire Management, Terminations, Grounding Requirements, Electrical Codes, Conduit, PCS Underground Prep (Transformers & Inverters), DC Collection Systems, Basic Compaction Means and Methods, Support Brackets per code, and Electrical Testing Procedures. Responsible for implementing electrical safety requirements including proper PPE, LOTO, arch flash, etc. Ensure that necessary materials and equipment are on site to support the schedule. Advise Director of Self Perform and Operations of potential constraints and assist in circumventing and resolving such problems. Manage and lead the skilled field workers, ensuring that all responsibilities are being met. Monitor work performance and productivity of crafts to ensure project guidelines, procedures, safety requirements, and quality are maintained. Develop work plans, means and methods, and schedule to maximize workflow, progress, and efficiencies in the field. Responsible for manpower scheduling, workmanship, and conformity with drawings and specifications. Completes 3-week look ahead schedules of production, manpower, and equipment forecast. Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA's) occurs before execution of work commences. Adheres to and ensures all site team members understand the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for each given task before executing the task. Reviews the engineer's drawings prior to beginning construction to ensure that the project can be built in a safe and reliable manner. Accountable for care and use of company fleet, equipment, and tools. Work in a cohesive manner with the Director. Supervisory Responsibilities: Present, support, and lead-by-example with a safety, quality, and environmental orientated attitude. Lead self-perform crews installing collection systems, trenching, splicing, terminations, transformer installation, and grounding. Oversees, and mentors superintendents on technical and managerial guidance. Manages and supports employee development and growth. Provides regular and direct feedback on performance and goal progress. Work with engineering staff to ensure plans, specifications, submittals and RFIs are transmitted to electrical field crew accurately and timely. Completes daily and weekly written reporting of work progress and work schedule forecasts. Verify all material deliveries have been properly documented and accounted for by Foreman. Provides crews with information and properly utilized resources necessary to complete their duties. Ensure the forecasts are accurate and is in alignment with the budget expectations. Resolve complaints and grievances within field work force in a timely and proactive manner. Fosters a culture of continuous improvement. Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a construction supervision role. Minimum of 10 years of verifiable electrical installation experience. Proficiency in the installation, testing, acceptance, maintenance, and repair of DC and medium voltage cables Preference will be given to candidates with electrical and/or renewable energy experience. Journeyman electrician (License or verified experience) OSHA 30 certification Must be able to read construction drawings, diagrams, and develop a working plan for implementation of design. Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple assignments, and prioritize is required. Successful candidates will be self-starters that enjoy challenges and leading teams. Valid driver's license. Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent. Travel is required. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Physical Requirements/Work Environment: Work is performed in an office environment and in the field. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, twist and lift up to 20 pounds.
