Geo-Environmental Internship

Employment Status: Temporary (6 months or less) The Geo-Environmental/ EHS Summer Program (the "Program") provides a tremendous opportunity for the individual to learn and become familiar with the mining and aggregate industry. The Program for 2026 will be geared towards freshmen and sophomore year students. The Intern will gain experience in many different aspects of the business within New Enterprise. Assignment Structure A mentor will be assigned to each student and will remain with the intern for the duration of the program. In addition, students may interact with key positions across the NESL Operations including Managers, Quarry Superintendents, RMC Supervisors, and HMA Supervisors. These interactions and relationships are intentionally designed to help the student develop their skillset and grow professionally. Assignment will be primarily office work with a few field and operational assignments. The primary function in each assignment will be to assist day-to-day processes and operations. In addition, all students will be responsible for learning and adhering to required safety protocols within each assignment. Travel to and from assignments and jobsites will be required. Travel expenses are reimbursable according to NESL Policy. GEO-ENVIRONMENTAL • Manager or Mentor will educate and give intern tours of NESL Quarry, HMA, and RMC plants and operations • Assist Mine Planners and Geo-Environmental team with various work assignments Qualifications • Preference given to students actively enrolled in degree program in geology, engineering, environmental sciences, environmental health & safety, business or related field. • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook • Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills • Strong math skills and attention to detail What Is a NESL Career BUILD AMERICA - Our work goes directly toward rebuilding America's infrastructure Contribute to a sustainable future improving the lives of people and communities we serve.
