Please do not apply if you don't meet both of those criteria. Thank you! After Care Counselor The Campus is seeking to add counselors to our growing After Care program. Working under the direction of the Childcare Director, this part-time position covers the school year (late August through early June) and offers a valuable experience for those looking to work with students in grades K through 6. Afternoon shifts are available 2:30p.m. through 6:30p.m., Monday through Friday. Day Off Camps offer the opportunity for additional shifts based on scheduled school closures. The ideal candidate must have current clearances or be willing to obtain all necessary clearances: Criminal Background Check $22.00 Child Abuse Clearance $13.00 FBI Clearance $24.95 PA NSOR (National Sex Offender Registry) FREE PA Mandated Reporter Training (online) FREE Staff Health Assessment Form (TB test within 2 years and annual physical) Preferred but not required: First Aid/CPR/AED Training Also needed: Two letters of recommendation Proof of Education (Diploma, Transcript, most recent report card) Copy of Driver's License/Identification The candidate must have a high school diploma and be over the age of 18. Previous childcare experience is preferred. Qualities and expectations of an aftercare counselor include: The ability to lead and supervise a group of students and ensure a safe, fun experience during aftercare hours. Maintaining organization and cleanliness of the aftercare space, toys and supplies. Implementing and participating in daily afternoon activities as scheduled in both indoor and outdoor environments. The ability to assist students with homework completion as needed. The ability to assist students when they are displaying inappropriate behaviors. The director as well as other staff can also assist as needed. Communicating with parents at pick up and maintaining safe dismissal practices. Contributing to a positive environment through your language, attitude, sensitivity and participation. Being a team player and working cohesively with other team members.
